Also, if you are a guy, rule number one is to get to the venue early to ensure that you have a better chance of getting in. What should I do if I end up on a red carpet?
If you never been to L.A or New York before, you might have never seen like a red carpet event and what that entails. Mostly, a red carpet event will obviously have a red carpet and some velvet rope extensions and step on the pit in the back like what you see here with the company logo on it. The red carpet events, generally, the press will only care about shooting the celebrities. So if you are not a celebrity and the red carpet is the only way to get in and I will just walk fast after the celebrity has walk by and just walk in through the entrance because really, the sponsors of the event or the event producers were the brand sponsors or the ambassador really care only about the celebrity's photo against their step on the pit wall and generally, the media will feed that image to different websites, TV shows and magazines and then you read it on the newspaper.
Can getting to know a DJ help me get into a hot spot?
DJs are powerful in that they do have their own crowd, and they can really make a spot hot by playing their great sets of music. Steve Aoki has a great following. DJ AM has a great following. Samantha Ronson has a great following. The list goes on and on and on. A DJ sets the mood of the room, and a lot of celebrities follow different ones, as well as other people. Yes, they are powerful and they are true artists.
Should I act like a player when I'm in a hot spot?
Some general tips of etiquette of what not to do in a club is to not do what you see in music videos. Some guys will think it is cool to hold up their bottles of Cristal or whatever they're drinking and wave it around like a rapper. That is just not cool and you look like an idiot. Another thing that I see sometimes in clubs that is really annoying is if a guy will take out stacks of ones and start throwing it in the audience thinking like he is a millionaire or P Diddy or something, when he's not. That is the tackiest think I have ever seen, and you're going to look like a real loser.
What's your best hot spot tip?
A general tip for getting into any venue would be to have a lot of confidence. If you think that you belong at that venue, then the chances are they'll believe you, too. If you have a great story, can drop some names, or are just really, really confident that never hurts. It'll take you very far.
