How do I ask others for help?

One of the things to manage stress is you have to learn to ask for help. You must not be proud. That is, if you want to be proud, there's plenty of people in the graveyard because they were proud. If you don't want to push yourself into that situation, just remember this: when a friend asks you for help, what do you do? You think, "Oh poor thing, of course I'll help." That's what friends are there for. In face, if you don't allow them to help, they often get very upset about it. I think the first thing you have to do is remember that friendship is two ways, and that if you ask for help, of course you'll help your friend. That's the first part of it, to not be too proud. The second part of it is also seeking professional help. There are times when friends and family, however loving they are, however helpful they are, just won't do it for you. When you recognize it, it's like a car. You don't wait for a car that has fallen completely apart before you take it to a garage. When you start hearing that knocking and you don't know what it is, most of us just take it straight away. That's what you need to do with professional help. When you realize that all the strategies that you're using and the help that you're getting from other people isn't actually working, go and see a professional.
