How To Avoid Dehydration Due To Running When Marathon Training

Pat Connelly (Running Coach for LA Roadrunners and Valencia High School) gives expert video advice on: How do I avoid dehydration due to running?

How do I avoid dehydration due to running?

Obviously, when you run you emit moisture from your body. You want to keep that water level, for lack of a better term, up at eye level, and if you don't adjust water level during training and racing, that water line drops down to an area that is going to have an alarm go off saying "I'm thirsty. I'm thirsty." You don't want that to happen. You want to be proactive in adjusting water into your system before you need it. Usually a mouth full of water during training every mile and a half or so is sufficient to get you through that training run or, perhaps, the race its self.
