How To Avoid Plagiarism In A Middle School Research Paper

Alexa Hale (Professional Tutor, Academic Advantage) gives expert video advice on: What are the rules regarding plagiarism?

What are the rules regarding plagiarism?

In middle school, plagiarism is when you take another author's works and cite them as your own. This means you're taking somebody else's words and taking credit for them. It's not enough just to change around a few words and say that you wrote it, the plagiarism rules mean you need to take a piece of what that author wrote, put it into your own words, and then also give them credit for it. Make sure that your teacher knows you didn't write those very fancy words and that somebody else did, and you need to give them credit where it's deserved.
