Interfaith, interracial dating has many more - potholes, to put it that way. It depends on how accepting the other family is, if it's a color thing. It's like, "Guess who's coming to diner," you know. We're far removed from that, but still, you meet up with prejudices. And sometimes the parents of one side or the other think that they're very open minded, and then they surprise themselves when they come out with, "But what about the Christmas tree!?" and the future groom said, "Oh I don't care about the Christmas tree, just as long as the baby is baptized." And he's sayings this to a future Jewish mother-in-law. And her first thought is, "Oh, how will I tell my mother?" And then instantly deciding, "I think I won't tell her." You know, it's fraught with all that. There's so much input from, you know, all the generations. "What will Auntie Sarah say," "What will Uncle Jim say?" It's just a lot more difficult. On the other hand, it's perfectly possible to work things out. But you have to have - you have to be prepared for unexpected hurts and unintended hurts.
