If you are trapped in a room by fire, and you need to break a window, the best place to strike a window is in the bottom corner somewhere, with a heavy object. Once the window is broken, make sure you try to protect the jagged edges with some blankets or some duvets, so that you don't cut yourself on broken window glass upon exit.
