How can I calculate the odds of getting the poker hand I am going for?

In Texas Hold ‘Em, you can calculate the odds of getting the hand you're going for by using a method called "4 and 2". If you're going for a flush, for example, right after the "flop", you've got 2 more rounds to go, then you're going to multiply by 4, meaning that you have 9 ways (9 more cards), to make that flush. If we multiply four by nine, we get 36; you have a 36% chance of making that flush. If, however, there is only 1 more card to be put on the table, you multiply by 2. Nine times 2 is 18, which means you now have an 18% chance of making that flush.
