How can I learn to card count?

If you're an average blackjack player, playing basic strategy, you face about a half-percent house edge. That means you're going to lose 5 cents for every hundred dollars that you bet. Some player can turn that edge in their favor, using something called card-counting. For example, there's the "high-low" method. In this method, you keep score of the high cards that appear, the ten's through to the aces; against the low cards that appear, the two's through to the six's. If you add one point for each high card and deduct one point for each low card, then you have a good indication of how the game is going; when the count is high, you bet more and take advantage of the edge.
