How do I change the color balance when I shoot using film?

You change the color on film by buying different film. Certain films are bright color for landscapes and detail photography. Some films are softer more muted color for portrait photography. We make the same settings and the color preferences on our digital camera. With film though, just like the ISO, you need to change the film you buy to change the look and feel or the color palet of the pictures you're going to make. When you're shooting pictures indoor and outdoor you have to be careful. A lot of people are tempted to buy indoor film which is tungsten balanced. You don't want to do that with film. Stay with your daylight balance film that way you cans use an electronic flash or if you really want to adjust the color temperature, you will do that with a color correction or color compensating filter. So, the bottom line in film photography, stay with your daylight balanced film. Let's leave the tungsten film to the professionals and the movie makers.
