How do I choose the best upgrade for my graphics card?

A graphics card, just like processors, have a megahertz or gigahertz rating. You want to look at that speed on the graphics card to see how fast it is. Also, graphics cards carry RAM on them. Higher end graphics cards would typically come with 256 megabytes on the graphics card itself. Older graphics cards would either have 32 or 64, and some would have 128 megabytes. The higher end ones will have 256 megs or above. You want to get a graphics card that is AGP or PCI express, as those are the higher bandwidth graphics cards, versus the older style which is PCI.
