How do you deal with traumatic situations at work?

I think everyone deals with them differently within the service. I personally deal with them with colleagues. That's what I find; we all do this job and I think that back in our station, in the mess room where the banter is and where we relate to each other. I personally find that's sufficient, but there's good counseling in place. There's good support networks, so you can access them very easily indeed. In fact you are encouraged to access them, so there's a lot of support there if you want it. I personally would rather do it the other way, but you know you can do it that way.
