How To Deal With Your Baby Teething
Scott Cohen (Pediatrician, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center) gives expert video advice on: What do I do if my baby is teething?
What do I do if my baby is teething?
Iif your baby is teething there are a lot of things you can do. One, you can give them things to suck on. So, people put teething rings into the refrigerator. They can suck on a toy to relieve the pain from teething. You can take a cold washcloth and massage their gums, or take your finger and massage their gums. You could even try, if the teething pain is really bad, infant Tylenol. They make baby numbing creams like baby Orajel that I really feel that is kind of fleeting. It probably works a lot because you are rubbing the gums, and it doesn't last very long. All of these things are at your disposal. The order of teeth is usually the front two middle ones, then the top two, then the ones next to the top, and the ones next to the bottom. In any order, you're going to get four and four to start off with before you get your molars. The best way to know if your child is teething is to rub your finger along their gums. If you feel the edge of the tooth, then you know that they are teething.
