I don't know which step family to spend Christmas with - how do I decide?
Deciding about how to spend events with people, who to spend the time with and who to celebrate with when your parents split up, is really difficult. The most important thing to remember is that there will be lots and lots of years to come, and if you spend one Christmas with one you can spend the next Christmas with the next. You don't have to jam them all into the one Christmas and make sure everybody's happy every year. There will be some people, potentially, who will feel left out because there are more people to accommodate. So if you're finding it a hard thing to choose about then it might be useful to speak to someone outside your family--just a friend whose parents have separated or a member of the family--about how to make these choices. But essentially you need to make sure you're spending time somewhere that's comfortable for you, and somewhere you're going to be happy and not worrying about how people are feeling too much. There will be years to come where things might be different.
