How To Design Your Invention's Packaging
Spencer Brown (Inventor And Founder) gives expert video advice on: How do I design my invention's packaging?
How do I design my invention's packaging?
I always equate it to, if you design a product for a consumer, and let's take a look at an ice cream scoop, and your handle is beautiful and it's fantastic, well you don't want to package around that, you want people to touch it, so package the top, then you have to talk to the industry and say, "how do you merchandise this product?" "We like to hang it, we like to have a little hanger." So, you have to design a unique fold of paper to hang the scooping part so then you can touch the handle. Another way of learning how to package products is actually go into a store that sells a similar product that you're designing or inventing and see how they display or package it. You don't need to reinvent the wheel. What you need to do is take a look at how your product can sell and what can you do to package the product to sell more of it. And I emphasize, try to minimize the amount of packaging that you use for your product so it's more sustainable.
