What is book-keeping and how do I do it?

Book-keeping, very simply put, is keeping a note of everything that the business spends and everything that the business earns. It is not any more complicated than that, except that over the course of a whole year, you can imagine that that would be thousands of transactions, and that then becomes a complicated thing to look at. A book-keeper should take all of your invoices and all of your expenditures, add them all up, note them all down, and keep them up to date, thereby making your life a lot easier with regard to knowing whether your business is viable, and being able to hand it all over to the tax man at the end of the year.
