How do you earn a living as an explorer?

My money, my income, is largely through my books, a certain amount of telly -- I pioneered the filming of expeditions for the BBC -- so that helps. That was not with the film crew, because anything with a film crew tends to bring in a kind of fake -- there's something that is just not very real about it. Also, motivational talking, I do a lot of that. Maybe two-thirds of my money is from motivational speeches, just to corporate organizations. And talking quite a lot to schools, as well. I think books, corporate stuff, and talking at schools, and telly -- those are the four.
