How To Ensure That The Information In Your Home Information Pack (HIP) Does Not Go Out Of Date
Mike Ockenden (Director General) gives expert video advice on: How do I ensure the information does not go out of date?
How do I ensure the information does not go out of date?
Well, the Hip doesn't have a shelflife per say, so you know there isn't any expiring in terms of the documents in HIP. Now what may happen is for the sake of prudence, when it comes to lenders and so forth, if a search is more than six months old, they may want to get it refreshed. So practically, if it's taken you a long time to sell your house it's quite likely that some parts of it will need to be refreshed before a buyer will make an offer or indeed will go through to exchange a contract. But you'll find many search providers will have free refresher services or have refresher services that make very easy to do that. If you got a home condition report in the pack there will only be elements of that report that are likely to carry out of date that you may want to get refreshed and you'll find the home inspector will do that for you very quickly and very simply.
