How To Ensure You Are In Control In An Interview
Rod Cornwell (International Director, Thomas International) gives expert video advice on: How do I make sure I'm in control in an interview?
How do I make sure I'm in control in an interview?
The best way for you to stay in control in an interview is to be prepared. Know what questions you need to ask, know what answers you need to get, and then seek clarification if you don't get the answers that you're looking for. Quite often an interviewer can try and fob you off with an answer that you think you might need, but in actual fact, you may need something more specific. So, if you say to somebody "Can I go and look at where I might be working?" and they say, "No you can't.", then say "Well, can I ask why? I'd like to look at the workstation I may be working at. Or the type of people I might be working with; that sort of thing." You have every right to do that. Remember, it's a two-way street here. An interview is a two-way process. They're selling to you, as much as you're selling to them.
