How do you enter a beauty pageant?

I basically just submitted my application for the beauty pageant, paid my money, and said, "Hey, I'm going to compete this year." And so you basically just get to compete in the pageant as like your hometown or the region, so I went as Miss Inland Empire. And I just competed in the pageant, and we did formal wear, swimsuit. Then we had to do an interview. And then you just do that whole thing. And they add everything all up together, and then you basically just win or lose, I guess.
