If dinner is something that they like to do and they do as a matter of course then the best thing to do is to ask them where they'd like to go and it's highly likely that they have a favorite restaurant. The other thing that it tells you in a way is also what their expectations are in terms of the price. So if they like to go to their local Mexican restaurant and it ends up being you know quiet affordable you know maybe they're a pretty relaxed character and you know you're sort of a friend. If it's a very formal expensive restaurant that they want you to take them to well maybe that tells you also that, you know the relationship isn't yet as informal as you think it is and you might want to plan on a very long evening and also a very formal one.
