Where or how do I find a publisher?

The best way in the world to find a publisher is to get a literary agent. That in itself is not an easy thing to do, but once you get a literary agent, you have somebody who's going to look after you at every stage of your writing life, and who will know which editors are going to like your work. You're not going to know that as a first time writer looking to publish a book. You need somebody who's got expertise, who knows the personalities of all the editors, what their taste is, and also of the publishing companies they work for.
