How To Find A Qualified Gynecologist
Michael Tahery (Obstetrician & Gynecologist) gives expert video advice on: How do I find a qualified gynecologist?
How do I find a qualified gynecologist?
When finding a gynaecologist, first you have to see what your needs are. First you have to see what the physician or the gynaecologist that you are looking at is expert in. For example: If you are looking for a routine pap smear and regular exam, then most gynaecologists would be good and if you are looking for a gynaecologist that is academically orientated, then you would call the academic hospital that's near you. These are the hospitals that have gynaecologists on staff and being in these institutions means that these are gynaecologists that have been through a certain rigorous picking and they are attending in these institutions. So these gynaecologists know what they're doing. Then, what you'll do is go and visit the gynaecologist's office. Is it the kind of office that I'm comfortable in? Is it a clean office? Is it an office where they have nice staff, they can take care of my problems? Is the gynaecologist patient focused or not? Will the physician or gynaecologist call me back right away? Then you'd like to meet the gynaecologist and see if that gynaecologist is someone that you can speak to about all your different problems, whether it's a minor vaginal infection or a breast lump or sexual problems, or a tumour. Because this gynaecologist is the person that will guide you through your child bearing years, this gynaecologist will guide you through the surgery that you may have, or the gynaecologist will just chatto you, "Hello, how are you, how's everything going?" and do your pap smears and take care of the rest of your problems.
