How can I find a reputable hypnotherapist to help me stop smoking?
If someone has been successful in the past with hypnotherapy, or believes that would be effective for them in trying to change some of their attitudes towards smoking, and their desire and craving for cigarettes, you should do three things. One, check with your healthcare provider about someone they have referred patients to with success, who believes in the qualifications and the ethical behaviours of someone trained in hynotherapy. You might check a local mental health provider or your county health department about referrals to hypnotherapists or check with your local hospitals. Usually those three sources are very reliable, as opposed to someone who doesn't have much medical knowledge or understanding of the training of people who might advertise themselves as highly qualified and skilled in smoking field. You'd want to check out where they really were trained and what their experience is in this field. You wouldn't want to subject yourself to someone who really did not take the time to know the technique well, and won't provide effective and safe treatment for you during the period of time in which you go into the hypnotic state.
