How can I find out if a piece of clothing has meaning in other cultures?

Didn't you know if your going to investigate, just asks someone from the culture. I mean, take your chances, I mean; you can't be afraid of every little thing you do. I hate the word politically correct, though that's not pissy. I mean, politically correct is a very misleading term. The whole idea is you want to be sensitive to other people but you don't want to live in fear. If you make a mistake, so what you make a mistake, you can apologize. You know, put it in your way, the multicultural environment which we live then ask someone to say okay or not okay and you'll learn something new.
