The agent meets with you, finds out what you need to protect yourself, finds out how much coverage would be adequate for you and determines whether you could qualify for it because of health reasons. The agent then assists you in filling out an application with you and finally, you have an exam. You send all of that into the insurance company and then several weeks later the insurance company says, "Congratulations, you've been approved." That's how you get disability insurance.
