Generally waiting lists are done according to need, so if you have an urgent problem you will be at the top class of the waiting list and if you have a non urgent problem, you will be further down. If you feel you are waiting a long time and your symptoms are very distressing, then go back to your GP and discuss it with your GP and see if there is anything that your GP can do. Sometimes we can make a phone call that will help, sometimes we can't. But it is not going to harm you to go and talk to your GP about it, but remember if you get put up the waiting list, it may mean that someone, with potential cancer for instance, gets put down the waiting list. So try be altruistic and think of others.
