How do I handle an interview in a restaurant or cafe?
Restaurants and cafes can be tricky. A lot of times employers will ask you to have a meal type of interview to see if you have the appropriate etiquette skills to know how to handle your fork and your knife and those types of things - table skills. So make sure that you are really up to date on your table etiquette before you do any type of interview in a meal sort of situation. Also, remember too that restaurants and cafes can be noisy and they can be distracting. So you want to make sure that you're maintaining your eye contact with your interviewer and you're not being distracted by what's going on around you. You also want to make sure that you're speaking at a level that they can hear you over any kind of outside noise.
