As a parent, I'd like you to think about this, teachers are human beings. The more contact you have with that teacher, the more services your son, your daughter will receive from that teacher. By contact, I'm talking about simple things like: stopping by and greeting the teacher in the morning, if that's possible, or in the afternoon for pickup. Being involved in the PTA where the teacher sees you involved in the school, perhaps the school site council. Being involved as a room mother or father is another way of communicating with the teacher. As I said, teachers are human beings and so the more involvement at whatever level you're schedule allows, will increase the services that your youngster receives.
