What can I do to help prevent rosacea?

In order to prevent rosacea, you can avoid some of the triggers that we know can flair rosacea. There's nothing that you can really do to prevent rosacea; you are born with it. You either have rosacea or you don't. However, you can learn what the triggers are that really set it off in your skin and try and modulate that a little bit. In addition, patients with rosacea have very, very sensitive skin, so if you are going to try any new products on your skin, it would be smart to do a skin test behind your ear for about a week before you put it over your whole face. That way you can find out whether or not something is tolerable to use without having to walk around with a red rashy face for a couple of weeks.
