How can I help my child be more motivated in the classroom?
We can help our children with motivation by making sure that one aspect of motivation, that is the expectation of success part, is very prominent. To do that, we can break down large, seemingly insurmountable tasks into smaller component parts that are achievable. When the child has a lot of homework to do, we can break that down into smaller parts. Say, "Let's just do this much right now, then we can take a break and we can do this much later." That increases the time on task and increases motivation for children.
