How To Include An Educational Element In Your Family's Vacation

How can I make sure to include an educational element in my family's vacation?

Vacation is intrinsically educational - when I came home from Switzerland one year with the kids, I made my little one a sandwich for lunch and he said to me "Whats this?" I said, This is lunch. He said "Well, don't you know if we were still in Switzerland, it would be hot? They have their dinner at lunch." So is that an educational component? I think it is.
