How To Keep Track Of Your Novel's Story

How do you keep track of your story?

One way of keeping track of what you've done is to keep a summary of each chapter. Some people keep index cards in a box, and the contents of each chapter will be written on a separate card. Just a couple of sentences with the main events in each chapter. So you can spread them over the table basically so your novel can be reduced to a couple of pages or a few index cards as a way of, as a quick reminder of the structure of your novel.
