How To Know How Much To Tip A Barista
How much should I tip a barista?
You know in coffee, a lot of times people just won't tip, you know, and that happens all the time. I did it for four years, and so you can watch the evolution of tipping. It's kind of like people don't know that much and so they throw in a quarter or a dime, you know, and then by the end of my time it really got up to like, a dollar, or you know, seventy-five cents. So yeah, a lot of people would not tip. If people came all the time and never tipped, I would be a little grumpy about it. Typically I would say fifty cents to a dollar. What I usually do is, the change left over from the drink, assuming its about fifty cents or so. Sometimes I'll ask to make change, or else even just take a dollar and make it yourself, out of the tip jar.
