Thea Brodkin (Voter Service Chair) gives expert video advice on: How do I know when and where to vote?
How do I know when and where to vote?
If you are registered to vote, you will get a sample ballot in most cases which will tell you where to go and vote and what time the polls are open. It will have all the issues on your ballot and candidates so you know what will be on your ballot before you get there. It will also show you how to vote. That is in most cases, there are some states that do if different, but you will get notified where to go and vote. If you're registered to vote, least here in California, you will know if you're registered to vote because your mail box will be full every single day with flyers from candidate's organizations. You will not be able to turn on the television without getting bombarded with commercials; so you will know an election day is coming. That is for a big Federal or State election. Now for your local elections you will have to watch a little bit more carefully because the candidates that run for local elections don't have the same kind of financial rescores and sometimes the local newspaper is a great source of information as well as e-mail of course and the Internet. The City will do as much as it can to get the information out.
