The regulator, the Financial Service Authority, does have a complaints procedure that all financial advisor firms have to follow. Your first point of call would be to go back to the IFA to speak to them about it. They have to handle your complaint and they have to do it within eight weeks as things stand at the moment. If you're not happy with that, you can then take it to an ombudsman who will look at it independently and make a decision either way.
