How To Manage Your Cancer Related Fatigue
How should I manage my cancer-related fatigue?
If you are undergoing treatment and you are feeling fatigued, that's normal and it's going to be very difficult to fight. Your body is essentially being drained and sometimes quite frankly it is being poisoned. Chemotherapy runs through your entire body. It affects most every living cell in your body and you are fighting something that is enormous and your red blood cell count is low. Most people are anemic to some degree. Your ability to eat many times is compromised. You are rarely getting sufficient sleep. So trying to fight it, you do the best you can. You try to eat when you can. You sleep when you can. I find that laughter has seemed to be the best remedy for that. The patients who have found some way to find something that keeps them laughing and smiling tend to just have a little bit more energy.
