Well, that depends on what kind of new people you are trying to meet. Are you trying to meet friends? Are you trying to meet women or men to date? Are you trying to meet people to sell or buy things from? There are a lot of different places to go and a lot of different ways to meet people, I'll run through a couple of the basics. There are dating sites out there, phenomenal dating sites. Some are specific such as JDate, which targets primarily Jewish daters, or Match.com or eharmony, which enable you to put up a profile of who you are and who you'd like to meet in order to connect with other people that match what you are looking for. Other ways to meet people on the Internet might include, Internet forums where you might want to talk to other people who have bought a recent car that you've purchased, or who like the same TV show or song that you like listening to, and by going on to some of these Internet forums you can read, meet other people, send them emails and communicate with them. There's also stuff like MySpace, which allows you to tap into a global network of other peoples profiles and information. You might say, "I'm interested in this book, I'd like to meet other people in my area that are interested in this book." And you can go on My Space, do a search for your zip code" and whatever that book title is and end up finding fifty, a hundred, a thousand people just like you within a certain range of that zip code that have read that book, enjoyed that book or are in the process of reading it. Another way to meet people on the Internet are some of these game sites. Web site and programs such as Second Life, allow you to lead a virtual existence online. People have actually met other like minded people in these games and have real world experiences with them. It could be even, you know, something like World of Warcraft where you are in a fantastical environment, you might have a conversation with somebody in that virtual world that triggers something in you and make you say: "that is a person I'd like to meet".
