What is a "permit for disposition" or a "cremation permit" and how do I get one?

A permit for disposition or a cremation permit is a permit that's required prior to the cremation. Normally these permits are something that the funeral director will help you get and you won't have to do that yourself. There will be a cost involved in getting a permit for disposition or a cremation permit, but you obtain them through the vital records or local health department's office.
