How can I organize my linens?
There are a couple of ways to organize your linen closet. The key to it is to keep linens and sets together. That's very important, especially if you're someone who loves white linens and all the linens in your house are white. There's nothing worse than opening them up again and saying is this a twin bed? Is this a king size? What is it? So you want to keep them in sets. I also really recommend getting a waterproof Sharpie pen and marking on the label of each linen what bed it goes to. It helps after you're laundering it to know maybe what linen closet it goes in or what shelf it goes on. I like labeling each shelf so that if someone else is doing your laundry, they know that this is the shelf that the master bedroom sheets go on, or this is the shelf where the children's sheets go on. I think it's very important to make it as easy as possible for things not to get confusing. If I have my preference, I like to remove a few of the shelves in the linen closet and put in a rod and have a hanging space in the linen closet. I find that if you hang the sheets in sets, they tend to not get wrinkled, and they just keep better, and you can actually fit a lot more sets on that one rod than you would on a number of shelves. So that's my preference, but not everybody is able to do that. If you can't, then utilize the shelves, keep the sheets together, mark them, and label the shelves that they go on.
