How To Organize Your Nightstand In Your Bedroom
Mary Astadourian (Professional Organizer) gives expert video advice on: How can I organize my nightstand?
How can I organize my nightstand?
There are so many uses for a nightstand, I've seen all kinds of stuff that's in nightstands. Sometimes nightstands tend to be little "dumping grounds" too, for all kinds of odds and ends, everything from gum to receipts to loose change to flashlights. There are certain things that it is good to keep in a nightstand. It's always great to have a flashlight because you never know if the power goes out - you don't want to be stumbling around looking for the flashlight that's in another room, so right by your bedside is good for that. Generally, people keep reading material in a nightstand, something that they're currently reading, but it really should be current and not like the next twenty books that you're planning on reading. They like to keep pen & paper, in case you want to jot down notes, maybe a phone - you want to utilize your nightstand, have lotions or creams, things like that, that you really want to have access to. But again, it's not a junk-drawer or a junk-shelf, it's not a place to put everything and create clutter - it really is like a "clutter magnet," and so you want to make sure that you're keeping an eye on what's going on in your nightstand. It very quickly piles up.
