How should I package my new invention?
What's most important is you have to realize that we are a nation of consumers. Okay, five percent of the world's population consumes 45 percent of our resources. The American market is the most sophisticated consumer group in the world. By the time someone is sixteen, they've seen over half a million advertisements. So do not take packaging your invention as an after thought. You need to have the idea first, and then that translates over to a prototype. Prototypes, then, you need to design the product. In addition, you have to design the packaging. And I recommend to talk to graphic design firms and packaging design firms that will help you communicate your invention in the proper design. And the new trend is minimal design products, meaning minimal packaged. You don't want to have a bunch of packaging on your product because the cost is higher and the consumer's looking for more sustainable packaging in their product consumption. So if you do design packaging, try to do it with the environment in mind.
