How To Prepare Financially For Your Retirement
Paul Lewis (Journalist) gives expert video advice on: How can I prepare myself for retirement financially?
How can I prepare myself for retirement financially?
The first thing to do is pay off your debt. When you retire, your income will almost certainly be less. So, you do not want to be spending it to pay off your interest on debts. So, whilst you've got a reasonable income in work, make sure that you pay off those debts. The second thing to do is to look at what you can expect in retirement. What will your income be? What will your pension be, and will you be able to cut down on some of your spending? There are lots of different types of spending to do with going to work. You have to travel to work, and dress in a particular way; both of which require expenditure. They may all come down after you retire. On the other hand you'll have a lot more time. You see you've got to find ways to spend that time enjoyably without spending too much money. But like any other financial question, it requires a bit of planning, a bit of writing down, and a bit of thinking. The more you think about it the more you prepare the better it will be.
