How should I prepare for a "home birth"?

If you are planning on having a home birth then you should definitely consult the midwife that will be attending the home birth. I don't know of any physicians that attend home births because malpractice won't cover the home birth. Most midwifes will have a physician backing them up and if the home birth is not going well you will be transferred to a hospital where a physician will be there, but to prepare for a home birth you'll need to speak directly to your midwife.
