How To Protect Yourself From Online Fraud
Paul Lewis (Journalist) gives expert video advice on: How do I protect myself from online fraud?
How do I protect myself from online fraud?
More and more people do their banking and run their finances online. Generally it's a very sensible thing to do, because you are in control and often you get better interest rates and lower charges. I'm a great fan of online banking and online finances, but you have to be careful. The first thing is don't have obvious passwords, don't have things that people can easily guess, and don't write them down. The second thing is to make sure when you are online that you have in place the virus protection and the firewall protection that will always come with the computer. But not everybody updates it every year. You must update it. It is a cost of doing online banking. If you do that you should be safe. And the other thing which people often forget is their pin, their personal identification number. Never give it to any one and never write it down. If somebody comes and ask you for it, treat them as if they ask you for tanner - just say no.
