Air travel today is more stressful than ever. Not only for kids, but also for adults. But it is particularly for kids, because there are so many long lines with the security wait. I always believe in getting there early, so that you don't have to feel any pressure on yourself. Any pressure that you feel, your kids are going to feel. That is important. Again, communication with your kids is key. They should know how long the flight is - if it's going to be a two hour flight, lighten it as something that they will understand. Put it in a vocabulary that means something to them. If they watch Sesame Street, you could say: "It's like sitting and watching two Sesame Streets back-to-back". It is also really important to simply ignore the other passengers - don't be too bothered about them. I see parents often, instead of taking care of their child, are apologizing to others. That is what happens with kids - they cry. You need to make sure that they are comfortable, and you need to calm them down.
