How To Sell A Book To A Publisher

How do you sell a book to a publisher?

We sell books to publishers by sending them usually manuscripts and in the case of fiction, it's finished manuscripts. Generally in the case of nonfiction, it's proposals which maybe 10 to 20 pages which we've worked with the authors on. Literary agents often do quiet a lot of editorial work on manuscripts before they go to publishers because it's very important that manuscripts should be as appealing as possible when they land on publisher's desks.
