How To Set A Price For Your Comic Books
Mark Zaid (Owner of Esquire Comics) gives expert video advice on: How do I set a price for my comic books?
How do I set a price for my comic books?
There is no scientific way in which to set a price for your comic book. For one thing it will be determined by how much you paid for that book. Did you buy it originally for 10 cents or did you invest $1000 into it and you just held it for a week? You look at the Overstreet Price Guide to at least get a sense, and then you look at what the fair market value is by looking at head sales at auctions, sales on eBay, sales at conventions, looking in magazines to get a sense. The ultimate thing is, obviously, youre trying to make a return on your investment. If you havent paid that much for the comic book, you can be more competitive and set your price. If you paid too much, you going to have to potentially hold out and allow some time to go by. In that sense it's no different than any other collectible and the prices will change over time. It all then depends on how much you have invested in the comic book. The more competitive you can be, the lower your prices you can use, the more likely youre obviously going to sell that comic book.
