How do I stand out and be a good team player?
The way to be a good team player is, again, to realize that by yourself, you have a certain set of assets, but when taken as a whole - some of its parts are greater than the whole. If you're realizing that in the team that you're working with, that everyone has assets, that everyone has positive attributes, and you're willing to accept and use those to your advantage to accomplish the task at hand, that's what makes you an effective team player. To walk into a room and understand that if there are ten people sitting at a table, you bring certain attributes to that. Your strengths are - whatever they happen to be - you have a certain set of notable attributes that make you valuable to your team. And depending on what the task is, you may be the person that should take a leadership role. But if it's a task where, you know, you have someone who has advertising experience, or particular sales experience, or is very well-spoken; you might want to draw on those positive attributes. So, being a team player effectively is about really learning to be perceptive about the people who are around you, what the skill sets are that are at your disposal, and then, being accepting of the opportunity to use those to your advantage. That's what makes you part of a team. It isn't all about us as individuals all of the time.
