How do you start a car share scheme? Well, you shouldn't have to because your local authority should already have one up and running. But there is a website that's very useful called carplus.org.uk which tries to put everybody, local authorities, associations, communities together and help them to start a car share scheme. You can also join your local LETS. L E T S barter scheme, your local authority will help you with details about that, whose members sometimes offer lifts or share other aspects of transport. You reciprocate not by paying but by offering another service that you have. For instance, it could be timed baby sitting, could be gardening skills, teaching a language, making a cake. I offer to lend people my cement mixer. And you don't just repay the person who offers you the lift or the transport sharing. All favors are pooled in a common bank.
