I got an email about an IRS e-audit. Is that a scam and how can I tell?

With virtual world scams, any email that you receive from the IRS you can more or less bet that it is some kind of scam and some kind of erroneous email. The IRS does not contact citizens via email, even if the address looks correct, it has most likely been "spoofed". This means that the email is made to look like it comes from the IRS, but you can bet that the email is not from the IRS as that is not how the IRS contact people.
